A second home should not be a second job
Most people buy on this coast for the same reason: a place to go, and something that holds its value while they are not there. What they get instead is a list — a contractor who will not call back, a cleaner who needs the gate code, a storm warning at 6am four states away, and no idea what condition the place is actually in.
We are not a low-cost handyman service and we are not a rental manager. We provide the local eyes, hands and coordination needed to help owners care for their property while they are away.
The measure of the service is not that we find problems. It is that the problems we find are still small.
About the founder
About Chris Egan
TideLine Overwatch was founded by Chris Egan after he relocated to Orange Beach following more than 20 years in operations and business leadership. Throughout his career, Chris has managed complex operations, large teams, valuable assets and customer relationships where organization, accountability and attention to detail were essential.
After becoming a Gulf Coast property owner himself, Chris recognized a need shared by many second-home and vacation-property owners: having someone local they can trust to keep an eye on their property when they’re away. TideLine Overwatch was created to provide that dependable local presence — through documented Home Watch visits, property care, storm preparation, vendor coordination and Boat Watch.
Chris brings a hands-on approach to the business, and believes property owners should know what’s happening at their home or vessel without having to be there themselves. Clear communication, photographic documentation and consistent follow-through are at the center of every TideLine Overwatch service.
As a longtime boat owner and operator, Chris also understands the additional attention Gulf Coast boat ownership requires. That experience shaped TideLine Overwatch’s Boat Watch program, which gives owners another set of local eyes on their vessel while they’re away.

Documentation as the product
Every visit produces a dated, photographed record. That documentation creates a useful historical record of observable property conditions and changes over time. Most operators send a text when something is wrong; the absence of a report tells you nothing.

We are built around a schedule you can rely on rather than reacting to failures. The economics of a second home are decided by the problems that never became expensive.
We coordinate licensed trades rather than pretending
Plumbing, electrical, HVAC and roofing go to licensed contractors. We can help coordinate scheduling, provide authorized property access, be present when appropriate, and report observable information back to you; the licensed contractor remains responsible for their own work. An operator who claims every trade is telling you something about how they will handle the one that matters.
Built for owners who are not here
Everything about the service assumes you are somewhere else: the reporting, the vendor access, the pre-arrival preparation, the storm protocol agreed in advance. That is a different business from serving a customer who can open their own door.
